Amal and Fazilat of Shaban month

Amal and Fazilat of Shaban month

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to perform the most supererogatory acts of worship in the month of Shabaan. During the two months preceding Ramadan, he developed the habit of supererogatory worship and fasting. That is why Rajab is called the month of Allah, Shaban is called the month of the Prophet and Ramadan is called the month of the Ummah. So Islamic scholars give an excellent example of how to prepare oneself by worshiping and fasting. Then-

The believing Muslim will cultivate the soil of the mind through worship in the month of Rajab, and will sow more seeds in the soil of the mind through the month of Sha’ban by forming the habit of more supererogatory worship and fasting. And during the month of Ramadan, the believing Muslims will successfully bring the harvest from the land to the house only through night Qiyam i.e. worship and fasting during the day.

However, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to worship during the month of Shabaan and fast a lot. Like the month of Shaban, so many fasts are observed in any month other than Ramadan. These issues are reflected in multiple narrations of Hadith-

1. Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast so that we would say that he would not break his fast (in this month of Sha’ban); Again he would start breaking the fast, so that we would say that he (in this month of Shaban) would not fast anymore.

I have never seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) fast for a full month other than the month of Ramadaan. And I have not seen him fast so much in any month except the month of Shaban. It has been narrated in Hadith-

2. In another narration, she (Aisha) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast the full month of Shabaan. He used to fast Shaban but only for a few days. (Bukhari, Muslim, Musnad Ahmad, Baihaqi, Abu Dawood, Mishkat)

3. Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that one day I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) the reason for fasting more and more in this month (Sha’ban). He replied, “People give more importance to the two months of Rajab and Ramadan and also fast.” But in the meanwhile this month is ignored. But in this month the deeds of the servant are presented in the court of Allah.

And my wish is – I am fasting when I present my deeds in the court of Allah. That is why I fast more and more in the month of Shaban. (Nasai, Abu Dawood)

Great month Shaban

Arabic 8th month – Shaban. The full name of this month is – ‘Ash Shabanul Muazzam or the great month of Shaban’. That is why the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to observe more and more acts of worship and fasting during this month.

Nabiji’s prayer

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to observe the month of Rajab and Shabaan from the beginning of the month of Rajab. He prayed to Allah for the blessings of these two months. And when the month of Shaban came, he would seek the blessings of the month of Shaban and would apply for Ramadan. The Prophet used to pray to Allah in the month of Shaban like this-

God bless us in Sha’ban and we are not in Ramadan

Pronunciation : ‘Allahumma barakalana fi shaban wa balligna

ramadan . ‘

Meaning: ‘O Allah! Bless the month of Sha’ban for us and bring us to Ramadan. ‘ (Musnad Ahmad, Bayhaqi)

Fasting in the month of Shaban

Nabiji used to fast in Nisfa Shaban. Visited the grave. He prayed to Allah. In particular, as in other Arabic months, there are guidelines for fasting and worship in the celebration of Lailatul Barat, in addition to the fast of Bij in Ayam in mid-Shaban. However, some other work was done on this occasion; Which is the name of exaggeration. Again, many people pretend that there is no such thing as worship in Nisfa Shaban, Ayam Bij etc. No, that is not correct, but this night of worship and dignity is also the night of Ayam Bij. And fasting on this day is also a sunnat period.

Sunnat fasting in following and imitating Nabiji

Islam has guidelines for observing fasting at certain times of the week, month and year throughout the year. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast twice a week throughout the year.

>> Weekly fasting

1. Monday (Prayer on the occasion of Nabiji’s birthday)

2. Thursday fasting; On this day the weekly record of the servant is presented to Allah.

>> Ayam Bij’s fast

On the 13th, 14th and 15th of Aiyam Bij’s Nafl fast. The fast of the month of Sha’ban is included in the fast of Nisfa Shaban. Thus the month of mid-Shaban is virtuous; The virtue of fasting on this day is more on him.

>> Monthly fasting

There is Nafl Ramadan on the 1st, 10th, 20th, 29th and 30th of every lunar month. Apart from this, it is possible to perform Nafl Ibadat as much as possible without fixing any time and date. And it brings you closer to God very quickly. Some of the Islamic scholars have said that-

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to observe 10 naafil fasts in the month of Rajab and 20 naafil fasts in the month of Shaaban. He used to fast for the full month (30 days) of Ramadan. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to perform supererogatory prayers, supererogatory fasts and supererogatory acts of worship in most of the months of the year except Ramadaan.

Warning of Shaban month

In the month of Shaban, one should be careful in performing supererogatory worship. Because in no way should any obligatory, sunnat and mustahab work be missed. No forbidden activities should take place in this month.

One of the activities of the month of Shaban

To keep account of the moon of the month of Shaban for fasting Ramadan. In the hadith, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) declared, ‘You keep account of the month of Shabaan for Ramadaan.’

May Allah grant the Muslim Ummah the Tawfiq to perform these deeds properly in the month of Shaban. Amen.
